PROP Announces $25,000 Grant from Wright Express
Donation Will Help Fund “Keep ME Warm” Program
Portland, ME [January 16, 2008] People's Regional Opportunity Program (PROP), a community action agency dedicated to helping families and individuals build better lives for themselves, announced today that it has received a $25,000 grant from Wright Express to help fund its Keep ME Warm program. South Portland headquartered Wright Express [NYSE: WXS] is a leading provider of payment processing and information management services to the U.S. commercial and government fleet industry.
PROP programs address a wide range of needs - including affordable housing, youth leadership programs, senior volunteer opportunities, substance abuse support, heat assistance, healthy initiatives, and affordable child care. The Keep ME Warm program serves households with up to 80% of the area median income, providing benefits up to $400. The funds are used as needed, to order fuel, fix minor heating system problems, stop a shut off of electricity, etc.
“We appreciate the generous support Wright Express is providing for the people of Maine,” said Suzanne McCormack, President and CEO, People's Regional Opportunity Program. “Because of the severity of the winter and the high price of fuel, we are experiencing a tremendous need for assistance this year. In all of the years we have been helping families with their energy needs, we have not seen requests at this level, which is why this donation is especially meaningful.”
“Wright Express is pleased to be able to be able to help PROP with its very vital Keep ME Warm Program,” said Michael E. Dubyak, president and chief executive officer of Wright Express. “As members of the caring community that is Maine, it's up to all of us to help where and when we can in times of need.”
Wright Express employs more than 675 people and maintains its headquarters in South Portland, Maine. For more information about Wright Express, please visit http://www.wrightexpress.com.
