Wright Express boosts distributor program with new features and options
The company's enhanced discount options and cost plus pricing gives merchants powerful new tools and features to build business and increase sales
SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE (April 21, 2004) — Wright Express is delivering powerful new options to distributors giving independent petroleum merchants reporting tools, card controls and additional features.
The latest enhancements are part of an ongoing drive by Wright Express, the nation's leading supplier of fleet cards and fleet card services, to sharpen its focus on the petroleum distributor segment, and provide them with the products, resources and support needed to effectively compete in the marketplace. The distributor program is designed specifically to help regional distributors meet the needs of all their fleet customers and boost fuel and convenience store sales. The distributor program consists of three card programs — proprietary, zip select, and universal — each designed to meet a different fleet need. The new distributor program features are broad and deep.
The universal card program provides universal acceptance at fueling stations and full access to the Wright Express Service Network (WESN). The zip select program allows distributors to customize local acceptance by zip code, yet give fleets universal card access outside of the designated local areas. Zip select also gives fleet full access to Wright Express accepting service merchants. In addition, both the universal and zip select programs allow merchants and distributors to create customized discount and rebate programs that help build sales and promote loyalty. The proprietary card program is a closed network product that gives distributors complete control over acceptance. The proprietary card also offers numerous discount and pricing features, including the recently developed cost plus pricing.
“The latest enhancements to the distributor program really set it apart from others in the industry and highlight our commitment to providing distributors with the best tools to effectively compete and grow,” said Michael Dubyak, President and CEO, Wright Express. “But we are not done. We will continue to listen to distributor needs and expect to roll out new features to serve this marketplace.
