Scott W. Roberts Joins Wright Express as Senior Vice President
SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE (February 18, 2003) - Scott W. Roberts has joined Wright Express as a top executive who will lead the company's strategic planning, new business development and communications activities.
Roberts has been named senior vice president of strategic planning and development and will officially join the company on February 18. He will report directly to Michael Dubyak, president and CEO of Wright Express.
"We are very excited that we can hire someone of Scott Roberts' caliber to help drive the growth and continued development of our company," said Dubyak. "Scott brings a tremendous breadth of experience and a great depth of knowledge that will help push Wright Express forward and take advantage of the new systems we are developing. He will not only be heavily involved in high level strategy, but also with business development, including strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions."
Roberts will also oversee research, product management, public relations and corporate communications. "I have known Mike and other members of the Wright Express team for a number of years and am impressed with the quality of the business and their people. I look forward to building upon their past successes and to the exciting future challenges. We are going to have fun," said Roberts.
Roberts brings to Wright Express tremendous industry knowledge and executive experience. He has worked in both domestic and international sales and is considered a proven communicator. Roberts served as the president and chief operating officer of Commtel in Portland, Maine from 1999 to 2002 where he helped grow all divisions of the publicly-traded company. More specifically, he helped increase the Internet and Data Services Divisions revenues by 80 percent and 50 percent in 2000 and 2001, respectively.
Most recently, Roberts worked for The Bradley Group, a New York-based consulting firm that specializes in strategic planning, executive coaching, organizational development and sales and marketing development.
Roberts has also worked in management positions at IDEXX Laboratories of Westbrook, Maine, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, of New York, Tilton and Cook, of Massachusetts, Shulton Inc., of New Jersey and Revlon Inc. of New York.
Roberts earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa and a law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.
Roberts lives in Gorham with his wife and their two children.
